Miller leads TCU with 24 points
HONOLULU – Emanuel Miller scored 24 points in TCU's 88-75 loss to Nevada in the semifinal round of the Diamond Head Classic on Friday at the Stan Sheriff Center.
Miller was 5-of-9 from the field, but did the most damage at the free throw line where he was 13-of-14. The senior forward also led the team in rebounds with eight.
The Horned Frogs (9-2) trailed the majority of the game and as many as 20 with 14:30 to play in the second half. A 16-5 run cut the deficit to nine points, 67-58, following two free throws by Miller.
The Wolf Pack (11-1) immediately pushed the lead to double-digits and continued to connect from the field, shooting 52.0 percent for the game and was 8-of-17 from 3-point range. Guard Jarod Lucas led the effort with 25 points and was 13-of-13 from the line.
Joining Miller in double figures were Avery Anderson III with 11 points and Micah Peavy with 11.
TCU will face Hawai'i in the third place game at 5:30 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
