
Miller’s Buzzer Beater Leads Frogs over Hoyas

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Emanuel Miller's buzzer-beating 3-pointer led the TCU men's basketball team to an 84-83 win at Georgetown Saturday at Capital One Arena in downtown Washington, D.C.
With the Horned Frogs (7-0) trailing by two points with 2.7 seconds remaining, Micah Peavy heaved a pass from under the Hoyas (5-3) basket. Miller caught it beyond halfcourt, took two steps, one dribble and heaved it from 30-feet away. The ball hit off the backboard and went in to give TCU a win in the annual BIG EAST – Big 12 Battle.
It was a career-high 29 points for Miller, who was 12-of-18 from the field and 3-of-4 from 3-point range.
JaKobe Coles scored 17 points and made a 3-pointer to tie the game, 81-81, with 1:29 to play.
After a 44-36 advantage at the half, TCU's lead increased to a game-high 15 after scoring the first six points of the second half. Midway through the period, seven unanswered points by the Hoyas cut the Frogs lead to three, 57-54 with 13:16 to play. Georgetown retook the lead, 64-63 with 9:18 to play.
Four more lead changes ensued before Miller's game-winner. TCU had trailed 81-75 with 1:51 to play.
The Horned Frogs return to action Saturday, Dec. 9 at 3 p.m. as they face Clemson in the Discount Tire Hall of Fame Series Toronto.
