
TCU Makes Debut in AP Top 25

Horned Frogs received No. 25 national ranking; first appearance since Feb. 24, 2020
FORT WORTH – TCU women's basketball debuted in the The Associated Press poll Monday for the first time in 2023-24.
The Horned Frogs received the No. 25 ranking, signifying the program's first feature in the AP poll since Feb. 24, 2020.
The Horned Frogs (11-0) are enjoying their best-ever start to a season ahead of the final week of nonconference play. TCU matched the longest winning streak in program history via Sunday's 68-51 victory against Lamar. The Horned Frogs will attempt to break the record for most consecutive wins when they host Omaha at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
TCU garnered seven votes in the AP Top 25 on Dec. 4 and was awarded 22 the following week to put itself within striking distance of a national ranking.
Monday's AP Top 25 ranking is the 43rd in program history. The Horned Frogs spent all 19 weeks in the top 25 and earned a program-best No. 13 mark in 2004-05. TCU's other appearances in the AP Top 25 came in 2002, 2005, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2018 and 2020.
The Horned Frogs joined No. 5 Texas, No. 10 Baylor and No. 12 Kansas State as one of four Big 12 teams in the AP Top 25.
TCU caps nonconference play at 6:30 p.m. on Friday against Mount St. Mary's following the midweek tilt opposite Omaha on Wednesday. The Horned Frogs then host BYU on Dec. 30 in their conference home opener.
