FORT WORTH – TCU wraps up its fall season with the fifth annual Big 12 Match Play Tournament, held Oct. 9-11 at The Clubs at Houston Oaks in Hockley, Texas.
The tournament will be played over three days consisting of Pool Play for one-and-a-half days (three sessions) followed by a bracket beginning on the morning of day three. The Final Round will be played during the afternoon of day three. Match Play will be played during all rounds. Each team match will consist of five individual matches.
The Horned Frogs will bring the lineup of Jack Beauchamp, Ethan Dial, Gustav Frimodt, Andrew Petruzzelli and Toby Wilt.
Pool Play
All individual matches within the team match will produce a result (3&2, 1 up, halved) and will not be played beyond the 18th hole. An individual match win awards that team with one point. An individual match that remains tied after 18 holes awards each team with a half point. Once all individual matches are completed within a team match, the team with the greater point total will receive three points while the losing team receives zero points. If the match is tied at the end of all five individual matches, both teams receive one point.
Advancement to Championship Brackets
Teams will advance from Pool Play based on their point totals. If teams are tied after pool play, a five man count five sudden death playoff will commence Day 2 after the morning matches are complete. Teams will continue to play the designated hole until the ties are broken. Pool A will play hole 1. Pool B will play hole 10. Pool C will play hole 16. Pool D will play hole 18.
