TCU faces Baylor at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday
HOCKLEY, Texas – TCU got off to a great start at the Big 12 Match Play Tournament Monday at The Clubs at Houston Oaks.
The No. 6 seeded Horned Frogs defeated No. 11 Iowa State, 3-2 in the morning match before winning 4-1 over No. 14 seed UCF in the afternoon.
Ethan Dial, Gustav Frimodt and Andrew Petruzzelli won both of their matches. Petruzzelli had two dominant wins, defeating ISU's Paul Beauvy, 5&4, and UCF's Gustav Andersson, 6&4. Dial had a commanding victory over UCF's Nicholas Estrada, 9&7.
TCU's six points in Pool C matches No. 3 Baylor for first. The Frogs and Bears will play Tuesday morning at 7:45 a.m. for the right to advance into bracket play, which starts on Wednesday.
