
Frogs Finish Up at Shady Oaks

Frimodt finishes 12th
FORT WORTH – Gustav Frimodt finished 12th Tuesday at the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational at Shady Oaks Country Club.
The senior started on the back and went 5-over 40, before sinking an eagle on hole No. 1, a 410-yard par 4. Frimodt holed out from 105 yards and followed that up with a birdie on No. 2. Frimodt led all participants with three eagles over the two-day tournament. It was his third top 20 finish in as many tournaments this season.
The impressive field had 11 of the top 30 amateurs in the world. Vanderbilt's Cole Sherwood (-7) defeated world No. 1 Christo Lamprecht (-7) in a one-hole playoff as Sherwood made birdie on No. 18.
TCU's Brandon Massey finished with his best round of the tournament. The Fort Worth native shot 1-over 71 to move up nine spots to a tie for 57th place at 9-over 219.
The Horned Frogs (+30) finished in 15th place. Vanderbilt (-16) won the event by one stroke over North Carolina (-15).
TCU will return to action next week at the Big 12 Match Play Tournament, held Oct. 9-11 at the Clubs at Houston Oaks in Hockley, Texas.
