Two Frogs named Most Outstanding Performer, Goldstein sets new career high
FRESNO, Calif — The Horned Frogs tallied their second conference win of the season over Fresno State, 15-5, on Friday at the Student Horse Center.
Mattie Dukes and Shea Graham were named Most Outstanding Performers in Horsemanship and Reining, respectively, while Lilly Goldstein set a new career high in Flat with a score of 91.
HORSEMANSHIP
The meet began in the western arena, where the Horsemanship team swept the Bulldogs 5-0. This was the unit's first sweep and third win of the season. Dukes collected her second MOP and third win of the season in the event with a 77.5 on Strawberry. Jessica McAllister remained undefeated in the event with a 77-75 win on Mabel. Giorgia Medows and Graham both took down their Bulldog opponents by a 78-77 margin. Payton Boutelle rounded out the event for the Horned Frogs with a 78.5 on Whiskey.
FENCES
In the fences arena, the Frogs tallied their first win of the season in the event by a score of 3-2. Ella Bostwick and Ashleigh Scully secured their first wins this season via 89-81 and 88-76 results. Jordyn Scelsa made her season debut and won 88-80 on Ali.
REINING
The Reining team took down the Bulldogs, 4-1 making it the third time this season the Frogs would come out on top with this score. Dukes and McAllister went undefeated in their discipline on the day winning 77.5-75.5 and 77-75. Kaylene Cunningham made her season debut in the event and tallied a win 69-0. Graham wrapped up the western seat and brought home her second MOP of the season with a score of 71.5 on April.
FLAT
TCU concluded the meet in the Flat arena where they were victorious over Fresno State 3-2. Goldstein secured the win over her Bulldog opponent 91-90 on Capri. Laurel Smith set a new season high with an 87 on Santo. Alexandra Lipacis made her career debut in the event and took down her opponent 85-77.
