
Five Frogs Score Double Digits in Loss to Texas

The Frogs made 32 free throws, tied for the fifth most in program history
FORT WORTH – Five Horned Frogs scored double-digit points as TCU (6-7, 0-2 Big 12) fell 81-69 to RV Texas (11-4, 2-0 Big 12) on Wednesday night at Schollmaier Arena.
The Rundown
The Horned Frogs capitalized on free throws throughout the entire game. TCU went 32-of-42 from the line, tying the fifth-most amount of free throws made in program history.
Trailing in the second quarter, the Horned Frogs began to climb back. Roxane Makolo, Lucy Ibeh and Tomi Taiwo combined for 7-for-8 from the free throw line in the period as TCU saw themselves down by only 10 at the half.
TCU went neck-and-neck with the Longhorns in the third period with both teams scoring 23 points in the frame. With under two minutes remaining, Knisha Godfrey and Taiwo made back-to-back 3-pointers to pull the Frogs within 10.
The Horned Frogs continued to execute their free throws in the final period, going 10-for-14 over the last 10 minutes. Godfrey tallied 11 second-half points as the Longhorns outscored the Frogs by just two points in the second half. She finished with 17 points, the second-highest total she's had this season.
TCU finished the contest shooting 76% from the free throw line while the Longhorns only shot 48%. The 42 attempts was also the 11th most in program history.
