
Swim Completes Road Meets; Dive Wrap up Day One at UCLA

The Men's team Edge the Rainbow Warriors
The dive team completed their first day of competition at the UCLA Bruin Invite with three Frogs qualifying for the finals in their respective events. The swim team wrapped up their final away meet of the season in Hawaii with nine total event victories. The men's team topped the Rainbow Warriors 140-122. The women's team fell short of a win, falling 181.50-80.50.
David Ekdahl and Ollie Cazaly both qualified for the 1-meter finals this afternoon. Cazaly placed 9th in the prelims with a score of 307.65 and Ekdahl placed just above him with a score of 311.20 for eighth. The divers fell two spots in the finals. Ekdahl finished in 10th and Cazaly finished in 11th.
Anna Kwong qualifies for the women's 3-meter final with a 4th-place performance in the prelims (294.05). The sophomore completed the final in seventh place overall.
Senior Emma Hultquist won the lone event for the women's team in the 200 freestyle (1:50.84).
Sophomore Geremia Freri won the 1000 freestyle (9:35.17) for the first win for the Frogs.
Coming off his Big 12 Swimmer of the week performance Piotr Sadlowski won the 100 fly (49.22). Freshman Edgar Cicanci won both backstroke events on the afternoon. In the 100 back he swam 50.01 for first place. In the 200 back, Cicanci edged the field with a time of 1:49.55. Sophomore Milan Fabian displayed his versatility winning the gold in the 50 freestyle (20.85) and 500 freestyle (4:36.84). Raphael Paiva Da Lima finished right behind Fabian for second in the 50 freestyle. Jadon Wuillez in the 50 breaststroke and Luke Dimicili in the 200 fly finished in first place.
The Horned Frogs finished the meet with the top time in the 400 freestyle relay. Fabian, Wuilliez, Peter Horton and Paiva Da Lima touched the wall with a first-place time of 3:00.83.
Up Next: The Frogs will close the regular season with Senior day on Friday, Jan. 27 and Saturday, Jan. 28.
