
Macnab Wins Individual Title at Schooner Fall Classic

Horned Frogs notch runner's up finish in first tournament of the season
NORMAN, Okla. – TCU sophomore Caitlyn Macnab carded a final-round 64 (-6) on the way to a school-best 54-hole score of 69-67-64=200 (-10) and capturing medalist honors at the Schooner Fall Classic at Belmar Golf Club.
The Horned Frogs were firing on all cylinders in Monday's final round, posting a school record team score of 268 (-12) and moving all the way up to a second-place finish, just three shots back of No. 16-ranked Florida State.
Junior Lois Lau also carded a final round 64 (-6), as both she and Macnab tied the second lowest single-round score in program history. Both players set new single-round career-lows with Lau bettering her previous low of 66 and Macnab shaving a stoke off her previous career-low score of 65.
Macnab also set a new school record with a new 54-hole low total, carding a score of 69-67-64=200 (-10). The new mark surpasses the 54-hole mark of 203 she set last season at the Jim West Challenge.
As a team, TCU set a multitude of new school records, which included its single-round team score of 268 that surpassed last season's score of 275, which was set at the Jim West Challenge. The Horned Frogs also set a new program record with a score of 831 over 54 holes, besting last year's record of 832 that also came at the Jim West Challenge.
Freshman Sofia Barroso Sá carded her first collegiate round under par, posting a score of 68 (-2) in Monday's final round. Freshman Charlotte Cattaneo fired a score of 72 (+2) in Monday's final round, while junior Sabrina Nguyen rounded out TCU's scoring with a 74 (+4).
TCU was just three shots off the pace of Florida State, who captured the team title with a 54-hole score of 267-285-276=828 (-12). The Horned Frogs, who finished ahead of three of the four ranked teams in the field, bettered their position by five places in each of the final two rounds, moving from 12th place all the way to a runner's up finish.

The Horned Frogs will be back in action one week from today, competing in the Barbara Nicklaus Cup next Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 3-4. The tournament will take place at Muirfield Village Golf Club located in Dublin, Ill.
