Women's Golf in Tie for First at Barbara Nicklaus Cup

Barroso Sá in second place following first two rounds
DUBLIN, Ohio – Following the first two rounds of play at the Barbara Nicklaus Cup, the TCU women's golf team is in a tie for first place, along with Tulsa, following a two-round score of +56 (315-317=632) on Monday at Muirfield Village Golf Club.
The Horned Frogs were in second place and just one shot back of Maryland following the morning's opening-round score of 27-over par. TCU carded a second-round score of 29-over par and will head into Tuesday's final tied with the Golden Hurricane. Both TCU and Tulsa lead Maryland (+62) by six strokes and Notre Dame (+63) by seven strokes. Colorado (+66) rounded out the top five, currently 10 shots back of TCU and Tulsa.
TCU freshman Sofia Barroso Sá leads all Horned Frogs and is in second place among all players following a 36-hole score of +5 (77-72=149). Sá shot five-over in the first round, but turned things around in the second round where the notched her first collegiate eagle on the way to shooting the round's best score at even-par.
Sá is just two shots off the overall lead, currently held by Notre Dame's Lauren Beaudreau, who carded a 36-hole score of +3 (72-75=147).
Sophomore Caitlyn Macnabe is in a tie for 10th place with a score of +13 (76-81=157) and junior Lois Lau follows in a tie for 12th place with a two-round score of +15 (75-84=159). Lau's first-round score of 75 was tied for third lowest among players in the field.
Junior Sabrina Nguyen carded a +27 (91-80=171) and sits in a tie for 34th place, while senior Trinity King rounded out TCU's scoring and sits in a tie for 37th place with a score of +29 (87-86=173).
