
Gregory, Matiyenga Advance to Quarterfinals

Day Two begins tomorrow at 2 p.m. for the Frogs
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Robert Gregory Jr. and Tinotenda Matiyenga both advanced to Friday's quarterfinals on Day One of the NCAA West Regional.
In the 200m, the Frogs shined in the fourth heat. Gregory won his heat with a time of 20.44 (1.0w) with Matiyenga placing third with his time of 20.65 (1.0w). Both Frogs earned automatic-qualifying times by placing in the top three of their heat.
Adding to Matiyenga's day was his automatic qualification to the 100m quarterfinals with his time of 10.35 (-0.4w). The senior placed 15th overall in the preliminaries.
Bryson Stubblefield and Kundai Maguranyanga both ran in the 100m as well, with Stubblefield running a time of 10.52 (-0.4w) and Maguranyanga clocking a 10.58 (1.1w). Maguranyanga also competed in the 200m and finished with a time of 21.22 (0.3w).
Patrick Sylla placed 32nd overall in the men's long jump with a mark of 7.32m (1.3w) (24-0.25)
In the 400m, Simbarashe Maketa and Ethan Brown ran times of 47.28 and 47.37, respectively in the prelims.

Day Two of the NCAA West Regional begins tomorrow at 2 p.m. with Sydney Juszczyk competing in the women's javelin. The men's team will wrap up competition on Friday.
