Hubbard Qualifies for NCAA Championships on Platform

Hubbard and Ekdahl both advance to NCAAs
MADISON, Wis — Alec Hubbard will join teammate David Ekdahl at the NCAA Championships behind a strong performance at the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships.
Hubbard placed eighth overall on platform with a score of 640.55. He finished ninth in the prelims with a score of 305.45.
Three athletes will represent TCU at the NCAA Championships. Hubbard will compete on platform, Ekdahl will compete on both 1-meter and 3-meter and Janis Silins will swim the 100 breaststroke.
Prior to this year, only two male divers had ever qualified for the NCAA Championship: R.J. Hesselberg and Kelly McCain.
Faith Harms-Zacharias and Connie Deighton both made an appearance in the platform finals as well. Deighton placed 15th overall with a score of 459.10. Harms-Zacharias finished 18th overall.
