
TCU Falls to OSU in the Championship

No. 4 TCU fell to No. 1 OSU, 11-9
FORT WORTH – In a battle that came down to the last two points, the No. 4 TCU equestrian team fell just short of the Big 12 title, 11-9, against No. 1 Oklahoma State in the Big 12 Championship final.
THE RUNDOWN
Oklahoma State (11-2) came out of the gate hot with a 3-2 win in Fences. Raegan Rast secured the first point for TCU winning, 164-163 on Calvi. Sydney Berube had the highest score in the event for the Horned Frogs with a 166-159 win over Oklahoma State's Hope King.
TCU took Reining by a 3-2 line. Shea Graham earned the first point of the event, 142.5-140 on Cowboy. Giorgia Medows rode her way to a victory on Cherry carding a 137.5. Jessica McAllister narrowly edged her Oklahoma State opponent 141.5-140.
Heading into Flat the meet was tied 5-5 and the Horned Frogs were determined. TCU fell short to the Cowgirls 3-2 with points from Jacey Albaugh and Ashleigh Scully. Sydney Berube had the highest score in the event for TCU who fell to her opponent 180-173.5.
It all came down to the Reining with TCU down 8-7. Giorgia Medows earned the first point in the event with a 153.5-148 win on Rio. Oklahoma State went on to secure the next three points which would clinch it for the No. 1 Cowgirls. Payton Boutelle finished the meet strong with the last ride of the day, winning 152-145 on Vegas.

The Frogs await their fate as the NCEA Selection Committee determines the seeding for the NCEA National Championship scheduled for April 14-16, 2022, at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Fla.
