
TCU Suffers Loss at No. 24 Kansas

Mercedes Aristegui collects singles win in 6-1 loss.
LAWRENCE, Kan. – TCU women's tennis (8-8) put up a strong fight, forcing three three-set matches in a 6-1 road loss at No. 24 Kansas (8-5) on Friday evening at the Jayhawk Tennis Center in Lawrence, Kansas. Mercedes Aristegui recorded the lone TCU point, taking down No. 124 Ngounoue in three-sets.
TCU battled hard in doubles play. After dropping the match on court two, both the No. 1 and No. 3 Horned Frog doubles pairs battled to try and find a late break in their matches, but would ultimately fall short, allowing KU to take a 1-0 lead in the dual.
KU won three straight set matches to clinch the dual, 4-0, while the Frogs were locked in three singles battles with Isabel Pascual and Stevie Kennedy each winning their opening set while Aristegui won her second set to force a third. The Jayhawks would claim two of the three three-set matches with Aristegui winning her super set, 10-5, for her first win over a ranked opponent this season.
