
TCU Set to travel Cross Town for Top 10 Matchup

No. 8 TCU will take on No. 6 SMU Thursday
DALLAS – The No. 8- ranked TCU equestrian team is set for a top 10 matchup against No. 6- ranked SMU this Thursday, Feb. 10, at the Dallas Equestrian Center at 10 a.m.
ALL-TIME SERIES
The Horned Frogs and Mustangs are tied 11-11 in the all-time series matchups. The last matchup took place on Oct. 8, 2021, where the Mustangs came ouy victorious 11-9. TCU is 2-6 while competing in Dallas, dropping its last meet 11-3 on March 5, 2021.
SCOUTING THE FROGS
TCU (5-5, 0-3 Big 12) is coming off a 12-day break with their last meet taking place on Jan. 29 against No. 9 UT Martin where the Frogs took the win 15-3. TCU took home all four MOPs in back-to-back ranked wins that week. Mattie Dukes was named the January NCEA Horsemanship Rider of the Month after going 2-0 in the event and claiming an MOP honor against No. 10 Delaware State.
The Jumping Seat came out of the UT Martin matchup 7-2 securing both MOPs. Raegan Rast led the charge in Fences taking down her opponent 87-68 and claiming the MOP. Isabella Baxter and Ashleigh Scully both continue to be a threat in the event carding an 83 and 86 respectively. In Flat, Ashleigh Scully claimed her fifth win on the season in the event winning 87-72 and the MOP honor. Wynne Weathlery, Jacey Albaugh and Sydney Berube each came out victorious 87-80, 84-73.5 and 82-67.
The Western Seat came out of the meet almost perfect outscoring the Skyhawks 8-1 in the discipline. In Horsemanship, Giorgia Medows claimed the MOP after taking down her opponent 76-75 on Flash. Jessica McAllister raked in her ninth win in the event carding a 71.5 on George while Mattie Dukes took down her opponent 75-72.5 on Jake. The Reining team swept the Skyhawks, 5-0, with Jenna Welker leading the charge by claiming the MOP with a 71.5-69 win in her first collegiate start on Alfie.

SMU (7-4, 4-1 ECAC) is coming off a 16-2 win over No. 7 Delaware State on Jan. 29. The Mustangs have had an intense start to the Spring season going 2-0 and outscoring their opponents 32-6 in Dallas.
The Mustangs swept the Hornets 8-0 in the Western Seat while also claiming both of the MOPs in the discipline. Lily Anderson brought it home in Horsemanship taking down her opponent 75.5-74.5 on Pete while Chalyce Head claimed it in Reining after a 73-71 win on Tequila. On the Jumping Seat side, SMU won 4-1 in both events but did not claim either MOP. Alex Pielet carded the highest score in Fences with an 80 on Chester. In Flat, Madigan Eppink had the highest score with an 80.5 on Rosie.
