
Men Finish Second at Big 12 Championships

Day Four sees three more school records broken
MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – Behind strong performances, the Horned Frogs had five athletes place in the top three and saw three more school records fall on the final day of the Big 12 Championships.
The TCU men's team finished in second, edging out West Virginia by 40 points.
Continuing the strong week for TCU divers, Alec Hubbard and Faith Harms-Zacharias both placed third on platform with scores of 372.50 and 264.90, respectively. Harms-Zacharias' score was also good for a school record.
Rylee Moore added to her stellar conference championships with a second-place finish in the 200 backstroke. She finished the meet with two top-three finishes while being a part of three broken school records.
Geremia Freri shined in the 1650 freestyle as he finished third with an NCAA B cut time of 15:19.49. Also finishing third was Piotr Sadlowski with his time of 1:47.49 in the 200 butterfly.
In the 400 freestyle relay, the team of Serena Gould, Lucia Simovicova, Marlene Hirschberg and Olivia Rhodes broke the school record with a time of 3:20.19.
Stefan Varga notched a fourth-place finish in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:45.88. In the 200 breaststroke, Janis Silins and Hugh McPherson finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
The men's 400 freestyle relay finished the meet off with a silver medal in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 2:53.55. Noah Cumby's start of 43.28 in the relay was good for a school record in the 100 freestyle as well as an NCAA B cut.
