
Records Fall, Three Frogs Earn Silver on Day Three

Six total Frogs place in the top three
MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – Six Frogs notched top three spots on the podium and four school records fell on Day Three of the Big 12 Championships.
Highlighting the day was David Ekdahl as he followed up his gold medal on Day One with a silver medal on 3-meter, breaking the school record with a score of 418.80.
Two other Frogs notched silver medals as Jeanne Dahmen swam the second fastest time in school history in the 100 butterfly with a time of 53.95. Jadon Wuilliez continued his strong rookie campaign with a second-place finish in the 100 breaststroke with his time of 52.47.
Three TCU swimmers had third-place finishes as well. Janis Silins earned bronze in the 100 breaststroke with his time of 52.73. In the 200 freestyle, Serena Gould placed third with her time of 1:48.06, the third fastest time in program history.
Rylee Moore broke her school record in the 100 backstroke that she set on Day Two with her time of 53.38 as she finished third.
In the 400 IM, Geremia Freri broke the school record by over four seconds with his time of 3:45.18, giving him a fourth-place finish.
Capping off the day was a win by the men's 200 freestyle relay team. The squad of Wuilliez, Raphael Paiva Da Lima, Jake Litchfield and Noah Cumby won with a time of 1:18.94, and Wuilliez's time of 19.80 to start the relay broke the school record in the 50 freestyle.
On the women's side, the team of Olivia Rhodes, Serena Gould, Lucia Simovicova and Megan Morris clocked the second fastest time in program history with a mark of 1:31.73.
Men's Team Standings
The Big 12 Championships will conclude tomorrow with the prelims beginning at 9 a.m. and the finals beginning at 5 p.m. in Morgantown, W. Va.
