
Ekdahl Wins Gold at Big 12 Championships

Three Horned Frog school records fall on Day One
MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – David Ekdahl became the first ever TCU diver to win an individual championship since the Horned Frogs joined the Big 12 Conference on Day One of the Big 12 Championships.
Ekdahl won on 1-meter with a school-record-breaking score of 388.50, beating his own school record of 372.20 that he set in the prelims. Heading into the last round, Ekdahl needed 31.10 points to secure the win and he was awarded 60.45 on his final dive.
The Frogs shined in the two relay events as well as the women's 200 medley relay broke the school record to finish third overall. The squad of Rylee Moore, Claire Chahbandour, Jeanne Dahmen and Olivia Rhodes clocked a 1:39.44 to set the new school record.
Also breaking a school record was the 800 freestyle relay team of Geremia Freri, Noah Cumby, Dusan Babic and Luke DiMiceli. The team swam a 6:25.08 en route to a second-place finish.
