
No. 5 TCU Set to host NCEA Meet of the Week

TCU hosts No. 8 Fresno State Friday for Big 12 matchup
FORT WORTH – The No. 5- ranked TCU equestrian team is set for its second Big 12 matchup of the Spring season against No. 8- ranked Fresno State. TCU was named back into the Top 5 of the weekly NCEA dual discipline rankings this week after four ranked wins in a row. The meet between the Frogs and Bulldogs will take place at Diamond Creek Ranch (nut free facility) at 10 a.m. on Friday.
ALL-TIME SERIES
The Horned Frogs lead the all-time series 11-9 and TCU is 7-2 when taking on the Bulldogs in Fort Worth. The last matchup took place on Oct. 2, 2021, where Fresno State pulled out then win 10-9 in California.
SCOUTING THE FROGS
TCU (7-2, 1-3 Big 12) is coming off a big week where they came out victorious over two ranked teams in raw score. On Thursday, the Frogs took down No. 7 SMU in Dallas 1528.5-1503.0 and Saturday they took down No. 6 Baylor, 1489.0-1481.5, in Waco for the first time in program history. TCU is the second highest ranked Big 12 team behind No. 1 Oklahoma State going into the meet.
The Jumping Seat left a huge mark in Waco as they went 5-5 against the Bears. The Horned Frogs fell to the bears 3-2 in Fences but turned around and won Flat 3-2. Jacey Albaugh led the charge scoring an 85 on Woody and being named MOP in Flat. Sydney Berube and Wynne Weatherly both stay consistent in the event raking in wins for TCU 78.5-75 and 76.5-65 respectively.
The Western Seat came through with dominate rides tying the Bears 4-4 in the discipline. Both events were competitive ending in 2-2 scores with clinching rides coming from Giorgia Medows and Shea Graham. Medows secured a point for the Frogs in Horsemanship with a 76-75 win on Rio while Shea Graham had the last ride of the day which would determine the meet, where she won 73.5-73 over her Baylor competitor. After a day of back and forth the Frogs came out victorious over a higher ranked Baylor team, 1489.0-1481.5.

Fresno State (4-5, 1-2 Big 12) will be kicking off their Spring season on Friday morning. The Bulldogs ended the Fall season with a two-loss streak against No. 7 SMU and No. 3 Baylor. Fresno States only conference win was over the Horned Frogs on Oct. 2, 2021 in California where the Bulldogs came out victorious 10-9.
In their last meet the Bulldogs won a pair of MOP honors on, one in the flat and the other in the horsemanship. Sara Tuck picked up her second flat MOP of the season with a 88-84 win over her Baylor opponent. Emily Maul earned her first MOP honor of the season in the horsemanship, outscoring her opponent 76-69.
