
TCU Set to Compete Against UTEP

The Horned Frogs look to stay undefeated against the Miner
FORT WORTH – The TCU women's rifle team will travel to El Paso to compete against the UTEP Miners on Saturday, Feb. 12. The Horned Frogs remain first in the NCAA in team air rifle average (2,381.0).
Since 2010, the Horned Frogs have not lost a match to the Miners. Most recently, TCU hosted UTEP in the last match of the fall schedule, defeating UTEP and Nebraska.
Stephanie Grundsoee continues to lead the team in all areas. She is sixth nationally in air rifle average with a 596.4. Stephanie Allan is still showcasing her record-breaking talent, currently sitting at 11th in the nation in air rifle average (594.8). Anne White (594.3) and Kristen Hemphill (594.0) are also both ranked in the top 20 nationally, coming in at 15th and 17th, respectively. Nina Schuett, who was one point away from matching her career high last weekend, is ranked 37th nationally with her average of 591. Abigail Gordon has served as a counter in every match so far this season and sits at 43rd with her average of 590.5.
Grundsoee still sits at eighth nationally in smallbore average with her 588.2. Hemphill was a few points shy of her career high in the discipline over the weekend but is slotted tied for 12th in the nation, one rank higher than last week. Allan fired a 588 at the PRC Championships and is ranked 29th with her average of 581.7. Gordon has improved her ranking to 32nd after firing a 585 over the weekend. Schuett, who has served as a counter in the discipline throughout the season, comes in at 35th nationally. White fired a 583 to help improve her ranking to 50th in the nation.
The match is set to begin at 8 a.m. at the UTEP Rifle Range.
