
TCU Set for First Big 12 Matchup of the Spring

No. 8 Frogs set to take on No. 4 Bears Saturday
WACO – The No. 8- ranked TCU equestrian team is set for its first Big 12 matchup of the Spring season against No. 4- ranked Baylor this Saturday, Feb. 12, at the Willis Family Equestrian Center at 11 a.m.
ALL-TIME SERIES
The Baylor Bears lead the all-time series 23-11. The Horned Frogs are 1-12 when traveling to Waco to take on the Bears. The last matchup took place on Nov. 5, 2021, where Baylor came out victorious 14-6.
SCOUTING THE FROGS
TCU (6-5, 0-3 Big 12) is coming off a huge win Thursday against No. 6 SMU where three Horned Frogs set new career highs including Sophomore, Sydney Berube, who set career highs in both Jumping Seat events. The meet ended as a tie, 9-9, which led to the Frogs beating the Mustangs in raw score, 1528.5-1503.0. TCU is 0-3 in Big 12 matchups this season falling to No. 7 Fresno State, 10-9, on Oct. 2, No. 1 Oklahoma State, 12-6, on Oct. 23 and No. 4 Baylor, 14-6 on Nov. 5.
The Jumping Seat came out of the meet against SMU 5-4. Sydney Berube led the charge scoring the high score of a 90 in both events. Sydnie Young set a new career high in Flat carding an 87.5 and claiming a point for the Frogs. In Fences, Freshman, Emy Lucibello set a new career high riding to an 89 and outscoring her opponent by 14 points. Raegan Rast continues to be a threat in the event as she won her dual 80-74 on Cotton.
The Western Seat fell to the Mustangs in Horsemanship, 3-2, dropping the event for just the second time this season. Payton Boutelle and Shea Graham claimed the two points for the Frogs scoring a 75.5 and 73 respectively. In the Reining arena, TCU tied 2-2 when it came down to Giorgia Medows on her re ride where she outscored her opponent 71.5-71. TCU pulled out the win in raw score 1528.5-1503.0.

Baylor (4-4, 2-2 Big 12) is looking to bounce back from a 11-8 loss to No. 1 Oklahoma State last week. Baylor has won 17 of its 32 individual events this season, with Reining riding a three-meet winning streak. The Baylor Reining team remain unbeaten in Big 12 action so far in 2021-22.
Seventeen different Bears have recorded points this year, including Callaway (Reining), Emma Fletcher (Flat), Jenna Meimerstorf (Reining), Andie Pratt (Reining) and Dominika Silvestri (Flat), who each go into Saturdays meet unbeaten in Big 12 matchups this season.
