
Frogs Fall in Big 12 Opener to No. 23 Baylor

WACO, Texas – Bella Cravens posted a team-leading 10 rebounds as the Horned Frogs fell to No. 23 Baylor 64-42 on Saturday afternoon at the Ferrell Center.
The Rundown
TCU took its first lead of the game when a stellar pass from Tomi Taiwo under the net set Lucy Ibeh up for a layup, giving the Frogs a 6-4 lead with 3:40 remaining in the first quarter. A late surge by Baylor, however, gave the Bears a 15-8 lead after the first 10 minutes.
The Bears were leading by as many as 14 points in the second quarter, but the Frogs were able to cut the lead to eight points heading into halftime. Highlighted by Bella Cravens shooting 4-for-4 from the free throw line in the second quarter, the Frogs ended the period on an 8-2 run to trail 26-18.
The Horned Frogs opened the second half outscoring Baylor 9-4. Emily Fisher scored five points in 35 seconds, including a 3-pointer from the right corner, to cut the lead to 28-25 with 8:05 remaining in the third. After Baylor's Caitlin Bickle made a jumper to extend the Baylor lead to five, back-to-back TCU baskets from Roxane Makolo and Taiwo cut the lead to one with 6:10 remaining in the period.
Baylor extended their lead to six points at the end of the third quarter and opened up the final period on a 15-0 scoring run. The Bears outscored TCU 27-11 in the fourth period to take the 64-42 win.
