
Frogs Compete at Day One of Texas Tech Open

Several Frogs record top 5 finishes
LUBBOCK, Texas – The TCU track & field teams had a strong showing on Day One of the Texas Tech Open & Multis.
Highlighting the day was Tinotenda Matiyenga as he advanced to the 60m finals. He ran a 6.66, which tied his personal best, to advance from the semis. Him and Jais Smith both represented TCU in the semis after clocking times of 6.75 and 6.71 in the prelims, respectively.
In the long jump, Khyasia Caldwell placed third overall with a mark of 6.26m. Joining her in the finals was Tosin Alao who placed sixth overall with a mark of 5.94m. On the men's side, Jaren Holmes finished ninth overall with his mark of 6.99m.
Jasmin Muhammad-Graham continued her strong season as she placed fourth overall in the 600m with a time of 1:32.01. Lailah White placed eighth overall with her time of 1:36.22 and Rylan Engels was the third Horned Frog to finish in the top 10 with her time of 1:38.26.
In the pole vault, Kasey Staley tied for fourth overall with a mark of 3.97m.
Dylan Scott placed sixth overall with a time of 1:21.59. In the 400m, David Seete finished 10th overall with a time of 47.62.

Day Two of the Texas Tech Open & Multis begins tomorrow at 10 a.m. in Lubbock, Texas.
