Miles leads all-players with 19 points as TCU improves to 2-0 on the road

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Junior guard Damion Baugh made a game-winning 3-pointer to give TCU a 60-57 win at Kansas State Wednesday at Bramlage Coliseum.

The Horned Frogs (11-2, 1-1) trailed the Wildcats (8-7, 0-4) 57-52 with 1:48 to play. A free throw by Baugh and a put-back layup by Emanuel Miller cut the deficit to two points, 57-55 with 24 seconds remaining. TCU's press forced Nigel Pack into a traveling violation to give the Frogs possession.

Trailing by two, Baugh drained a 3-pointer off a pass from Mike Miles to put the Frogs up by one with 11.3 remaining. Following a KSU miss, Miles hit two free throws to go up three and all-but seal the game with one second left. The Horned Frogs ended the game scoring the final eight points.

Baugh finished with 12 points. Miles led all players with 19 points and added five rebounds and six assists. The Horned Frogs moved to 2-0 on the road for the second-straight season and just the eighth time in the last 70 years.

Both teams had similar struggles shooting the ball as they each finished 6-of-20 from 3-point range for 30 percent. TCU shot 12-of-23 from the free throw line, while KSU was 11-of-22.

The Frogs found strength where they had all season, with the rebounding effort as they out-boarded the Wildcats 42-29 and had 12 on the offensive end. Miller led the way with 10 rebounds to go with eight points.

TCU continues Big 12 Conference play on Saturday when it hosts Oklahoma. Tip is set for 3 p.m. and can be seen on ESPNU.

Team Notes

TCU won with 60 points, its lowest total of the season. It was the first time the Frogs won with 60 or fewer points since a 56-52 win over Liberty on Nov. 29, 2020.
TCU improved to 2-0 on the road for the second-straight season. It's just the eighth time in the last 70 years that TCU has been 2-0 on the road and the 17th time in program history.
Jamie Dixon improved to 7-7 against KSU all-time.
TCU improved to 10-19 against KSU all-time.
The Frogs moved to 4-2 in Manhattan under Dixon. They have won three straight at KSU.
TCU outrebounded Kansas State, 42-29. TCU is 10-1 this season and 91-27 under Dixon when out rebounding its opponent.
TCU led 26-25 at halftime. The Frogs improved to 10-1 this season and 88-18 under Dixon when leading at the half.
It was the fifth time TCU held its opponent under 60 points this season. TCU is 5-0 this season when holding opponents under that total.
TCU improved to 4-0 this season and 26-13 under Dixon when playing on a Wednesday, its best record of any of the seven days.
It was TCU's first game this season decided by three or fewer points. TCU improved to 18-12 under Dixon in those games.

Mike Miles finished with 19 points, his 12th consecutive game with double-digits.
Miles has tied or led TCU in scoring in 10 games this season.
Damion Baugh recorded 12 points, led by three 3-pointers, his third-straight game and fourth game overall with double-digits. Three 3-pointers tied his season high.
O'Bannon had one three, his fifth consecutive game with a made three-pointer.
Emanuel Miller led TCU in rebounds for the sixth time this season with 10. It was the fifth time this season he finished in double figures. With eight points, Miller was two points shy of his fifth double-double.
