No. 10 TCU finishes sixth in its second tournament of the fall
NORMAN, Okla. -- Sabrina Iqbal carded a final-round 69 Monday to lead the 10th-ranked TCU women's golf team to a sixth-place finish at the Schooner Fall Classic.
Iqbal posted her fourth sub-70 score in six rounds this fall. The senior from San Jose, Calif., finished at even-par 210 to tie for fifth, her 13th top-10 result in 31 career tournaments. Iqbal was 2 under on the back nine with a pair of birdies while shooting par on seven holes.
"We finished our last four holes strong," TCU Head Women's Golf Angie Ravaioli-Larkin said. "We struggled in the middle of the round but kept fighting. We made some silly mistakes throughout the 54 holes. However, there were a lot of good things we did as well. Once we clean up some of our mental errors, this team will be unstoppable. I am proud of how much fight this team has!"
TCU freshman Caitlyn Macnab, in her second collegiate event, tied for 21st with a 4-over 214. She recorded par on 15 holes for a final-round 73.
Caroline Jordaan birdied two of her opening six holes en route to a 73, while Lois Lau posted her second consecutive 73 with the aid of a pair of birdies.
Trinity King, competing as an individual, tied for 38th in her season debut. Her final-round 74 included a birdie.
