FORT WORTH – No. 6 TCU improved to 3-0 on the season with a 6-0 victory over UTRGV. Gracie Brian led the offensive attack with a pair of goals and Lauren Kellett made one save to record her first career shutout.
The Rundown
TCU wasted little time getting the match's opening goal. Grace Collins bid to find an open teammate inside the six was rejected, but the ball found its way back to her and this time she deposited the first goal of the match into the far corner for a 1-0 lead just four minutes into the contest.
In the 17th minute, the Frogs struck again to open up a 2-0 advantage. Collins made a perfect feed to the middle of the six, right on target for Gracie Brian to head in her first goal of the season.
After a 70 minute lightning delay that started during halftime, the Horned Frogs came out firing and netted four goals. Messiah Bright opened the second half scoring on a give-and-go with Michelle Slater. Bright fired home her second goal of the season to push the TCU advantage to 3-0 in the 50th minute.
Oli Pena took a Payton Crews feed about 25 yards out from goal and blasted a rising shot just over the outstretched hands of the keeper for her first career goal in the 61st minute.
Camryn Lancaster set up the final two tallies for TCU. In the 71st minute she sent a cross to the far post, finding an open Brian for her second goal of the game. Ten minutes later, she executed a perfect cross right to the head of Lauren Memoly for the final goal of the match.
Lauren Kellet preserved the shutout, making her only stop of the afternoon on a rising shot with under five minutes to go in the match.

Quotes of the Game
Head Coach Eric Bell
On the match and team depth:
"We are pretty deep. We knew going into the season that playing time was going to be at a premium. We were able to showcase a lot of different players at a lot of different positions. I thought they did really well against a worthy opponent in UTRGV. I'm happy with the shutout, but I'm more happy about the way we played after the lengthy delay."
On the lightning delay:
"I was worried coming out after a big break like that. I thought our second half was better than our first. We performed well. We were sharper and did some of the things that we asked them to do at the half."
