NACOGDOCHES, Texas – No. 8 TCU struck for three goals in the first half and four in the second as it rolled to a 7-0 victory at Stephen F. Austin on Thursday night. Grace Collins and Camryn Lancaster each tallied a pair of goals, while Gracie Brian pitched in with three assists.
The Rundown
TCU opened the scoring in the 11th minute when Gracie Brian found a wide open Grace Collins. The junior wasted little time firing the shot high under the crossbar for her first of the season. Three minutes later Brian and Collins teamed up to get the ball to Messiah Bright who split the defenders and made it 2-0.
Camryn Lancaster struck for her first goal of the game in the 36th minute to push the TCU lead to 3-0. A deflected Brandi Peterson shot found its way to the foot of Olivia Hasler. She crossed the ball to Lancaster for a goal from just inside the 18.
Collins kicked off the second-half scoring for the Frogs in the 54th minute. Again, it was Brian who played the ball to Collins for the goal.
A good individual effort from Lauren Memoly to work her way past a defender set up Lancaster's second goal of the night. Lancaster was open inside the six and Memoly placed it perfectly for the tally in the 71st minute.
Marz Akins converted a Lancaster corner kick in the 76th minute to make it a 6-0 contest and Maddy Warren capped the scoring as she intercepted the ball and fired it past the keeper from about 25 yards out.
Lauren Kellett started and made two saves in her one half of play. Ehmann registered two saves in the second half.
