2016 TCU All-American will join the PGA TOUR for the first time
FORT WORTH – TCU alum Paul Barjon earned his first PGA TOUR card Sunday evening by finishing inside of the top 25 of the 2020-21 Korn Ferry Tour regular season points standings.
The 43-event combined regular season concluded Sunday evening at the Pinnacle Bank Championship presented by Aetna in Omaha, Neb. Barjon finished 15th and had six top 10 finishes on the Korn Ferry Tour this season. He first joined the Korn Ferry in 2016.
"I'm super excited to be heading to the PGA TOUR," said Barjon, a Dumbea, New Caledonia native and Fort Worth resident. "In a way it's exciting to not have an offseason. It will be super fun to start my PGA TOUR career about six days after our season ends. I'm looking forward to competing against the best players in the world and moving up the ranks. I'm pumped to discover new courses and play in the big-boy league."
Barjon played for TCU from 2013-2016 and was an All-American in 2016 when he led the Frogs with a 71.90 scoring average, seven top 10 finishes and 11 sub-70 rounds. He tied for second at the Big 12 Championship and finished 22nd at the NCAA Championships that season. Barjon's career 475 birdies still rank as the second most ever at TCU.
Barjon join Tom Hoge '11 as Horned Frogs on the PGA TOUR. Hoge first joined the tour in 2015.
