Frogs homer four times in the win
The Rundown
TCU got the scoring started in the second on a two-run home run from Gray Rodgers, but Oklahoma State battled to tie the game in the third. A balk brought home the Cowboys first run of the game and a two-out single from Max Hewitt tied the game.
The Frogs opened up another two run lead, 4-2, scoring twice on a Phillip Sikes triple in the fourth. The Cowboys answered with three in the following frame to take a 5-4 lead. All three runs scored with two outs in the fifth.
A walk followed by an error in the sixth set the table for Gene Wood and he came through with a three run blast to right center to give the Horned Frogs a 7-5 lead. Oklahoma State pulled back within one in the seventh, but Haylen Green came on and struck out Alix Garcia to end the inning with the tying run standing on first.
Back-to-back home runs from Sikes and Tommy Sacco gave TCU it's largest lead of the night, 9-6. The Frogs would need all nine as Oklahoma State made it a 9-8 ballgame with a two out, two run double in the eighth. Green retired the final three batters he faced to lock up his eighth save of the year.
Charles King (4-1) picked up the win in relief of Austin Krob. King allowed a run on four hits in 1 1/3 innings of work. Krob was touched for five runs on eight hits in 4 2/3 innings. He walked two and struck out five in the no-decision. River Ridings struck out the only batter he faced.
