
TCU Walks Off; Clinches Series Over Oklahoma State

TCU rallies from three run deficit
FORT WORTH – No. 10 TCU rallied from a 6-3 deficit to walk-off with an 8-7 victory over No. 12 Oklahoma State Saturday afternoon at Lupton Stadium. Hunter Wolfe had the game-tying home run and the walk-off single in the ninth. He finished the afternoon with four hits and four RBIs.
The Rundown
Zach Humphreys reached on a one out single in the ninth and was standing on third with two out. Hunter Wolfe lined a single up the middle to complete the come-from-behind victory.
Oklahoma State opened the scoring in the first on a one out double from Christian Encarnacion-Strand. The Horned Frogs tied the game on an Elijah Nunez infield single in the third.
Again, the Cowboys regained the advantage, this time on a Carson McCusker home run in the fourth. TCU responded with two runs in the bottom of the frame to take its first lead of the game, 3-2. Wolfe's double tied the game at two and he scored on a Gray Rodgers base knock.
A bunt single followed by a three run home run from Encarnacion-Strand in the fifth saw the Cowboys open up a 6-3 lead.
TCU pulled within one, 6-5, in the sixth. Gene Wood led off the inning with a walk and moved to third on a Wolfe double. Rodgers reached on an error to drive in the first run of the inning and Phillip Sikes followed with an RBI-single.
The Cowboys loaded the bases with nobody out in the seventh, but the combination of Dalton Brown and River Ridings allowed just one run to score to keep the game within reach, 7-5.
Hunter Wolfe completed the comeback with a two run home run in the seventh to tie the game at seven.
Ridings (2-1) picked up the win in relief, tossing 2 2/3 scoreless innings. He walked one, hit two batters and struck out two. Russell Smith started and allowed seven runs on nine hits in six innings. He walked one and struck out seven in the no-decision.
