
Frogs Face Georgia in First Round

WACO, Texas – The No. 6 TCU equestrian team begins its postseason championship as the Horned Frogs take on No. 3 Georgia in the first round of the NCEA National Championship. The meet is scheduled to begin shortly after 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 15, at the Extraco Event Center in Waco, Texas.

The challenges of this year have been like none before and our girls have rose to the occasion and overcome everything that has faced them. We expect a great battle tomorrow with Georgia and give it everything we have like we have done all season long."
 
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Georgia (4-4, 3-3 SEC) was the runner-up in the SEC falling to top-seeded Auburn, 15-5, in the SEC Championship which the Bulldogs hosted. The UGA group is led by first team Fences All-American Isabelle Heckler. Ali Tritschler and Hayley Mairano were also named honorable mention All-Americans and round out a strong Jumping Seat team.
 
Sara Lewis and Courtney Blumer lead the Western corps with a 9-4-2 record between the two in Horsemanship and Reining. The pair were both named All-SEC riders.
 
THE ALL-TIME SERIES
The Bulldogs lead the all-time series, 7-4. The two sides are even at one win apiece when facing off at a neutral site. The last meeting between the two teams was last season in what was the season finale, the Horned Frogs downed UGA 10-9 on senior day. When facing off at the National Championship, TCU is 1-0 after upsetting the Bulldogs in the semifinals, 10-5, in 2016.
 
CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY
The Frogs are a six seed for the second time in program history. The last time the Frogs entered in the No. 6 slot, the team finished National Runner-Up, falling to Auburn, 8-7, in the championship
