
TCU Comes Up Short vs. Oklahoma

FORT WORTH -- TCU volleyball dropped its Friday afternoon match to Oklahoma, 3-0 inside Schollmaier Arena. The Horned Frogs hit over .300 in two sets for the first time since their 3-2 win over Texas Tech (Oct. 8).
TCU NOTABLES:
· Dani Dennison led the team with six digs tonight, extending her career total to 1,256.
· She holds the third most digs in program history, 78 digs behind 2nd place (Katelyn Blackwood).
· Dennison's double-digit dig streak comes to an end at 10 matches, the second longest streak of her career.
· Julia Adams led the Horned Frog attack with 14 kills tonight, her seventh 10+ kill performance of the season.
· She leads the team with 151 kills in 2020-21.
· Adams tied her career high with seven digs tonight as well. This is the third time this season she has reached 7 digs.
· Bella Swafford set a new season-high with a team-best nine digs today.
· It was the first time she has led TCU in digs in her career.
· Taylor Raiola delivered her most efficient performance as a Horned Frog, leading the team with a .316 hitting percentage on eight kills in her first match of the spring.
· McKenzie Nichols led the team with 37 assists from the setter position. She distributed the ball evenly throughout the match as five Horned Frogs finished with five or more kills.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Set 1 (OU, 25-21): The Horned Frogs got off to a fast start, taking advantage of some early OU errors while utilizing strong attacks from the pins to get out in front, 13-9. Raiola and Adams combined for seven kills in that stretch. The Sooners would respond with an 11-4 run, and managed to hold onto the lead for a four-point set win.
Set 2 (OU, 25-15): Another 11-4 Sooner run turned a 4-4 score line into a 15-8 deficit. OU would take the set by 10 points in the end. Afedo Manyang and Adams led the Frogs with four kills each.
Set 3 (OU, 25-21): Both teams traded points in the early going, 11-11, before Oklahoma pulled ahead to a five-point advantage, 19-14. The Frogs fought off a match point with Adams' 14th kill, but it wouldn't be enough. Oklahoma claimed the win in three sets. TCU delivered 17 kills in the set, led by five from Adams.
