TCU looks for revenge against two non-conference foes
FORT WORTH – TCU volleyball will be looking to reverse its fortunes this weekend, when they battle Texas State and Tarleton. The Horned Frogs play Texas State on Thursday, March 18, at 1 p.m. in San Marcos, Texas, before traveling back home for a Saturday afternoon match against Tarleton on Saturday, March 20, at 2 p.m, inside Schollmaier Arena.
This will be the second matches of the home-and-home series for both matches. TCU dropped the match at Tarleton in four sets earlier this season, before falling in three-sets at home to Texas State.

Frog Focus
- TCU is playing in its sixth match of the spring season. This is the first time TCU has played volleyball in the spring season.
- The Horned Frogs have utilized a balanced offensive attack this spring, with five different Frogs averaging at least two kills per set: Julia Adams (3.00), Taylor Raiola (2.64), Afedo Manyang (2.28), Audrey Nalls (2.07) and Katie Clark (2.00).
- Freshman DS/L Kate Georgiades has been on an historic pace receiving serves. The College Station product has successfully received all but four of the 270 serves sent her way over her first 15 matches (98.5 percent).
- She is on pace to set the TCU single season receiving record for a freshman.
- Adams has picked up where she left off in the fall offensively. She leads the team with 48 kills in just 16 sets of work (3.00 kills/set).
- Her work on the defensive end has improved drastically since the fall. She is averaging 1.63 digs/set this spring, nearly double her fall output (0.84 digs/set).
- Adams has matched her career-best with seven digs in three of her five spring appearances.
- She is fourth on the team in digs/set, and first among hitters.
- Raiola has blossomed into a significant contributor on the offensive end over her last three matches.
- She has posted the second most kills on the team over the last three matches (29), just one behind Adams for the team lead.
- Raiola delivered back-to-back .300 hitting performances against Oklahoma and Kansas, the first time she has done so as a collegiate athlete.
Dig it Again Dan
- Senior Dani Dennison has been one of the most dependable players on the roster throughout her career.
- She has played in all 108 of TCU's matches over her college career, starting a majority at libero.
- Dennison has reached 1,289 digs, the third most in program history.
- She is fourth in the conference with 4.14 digs/set.
- She leads the team with 244 digs through 15 matches. Dennison is on track to become the first player in program history to lead TCU in digs three times over the course of her career.
- She recorded 20+ digs three times in the fall, matching her total from the last two seasons combined.

Scouting the Opponents: Texas State
- The Bobcats enter play with a 27-7 (3-5 Spring) record. They have lost their last four matches to Kansas, Baylor and Texas.
- This is the third of a three-game home stand against Big 12 opponents. Texas State failed to register a set against Baylor and Texas.
- Texas State defeated TCU, 3-0, earlier this season in Fort Worth. Three Horned Frogs registered eight kills in that match (Clark, Manyang and Nalls) with Clark doing so on a season-best .353 hitting percentage.
- This will be the 12th meeting between TCU and Texas State. The Bobcats lead the all-time series, 8-3.
Scouting the Opponents: Tarleton
- The Texans enter play with a 10-11 record, all matches coming in the spring. They have lost their last four matches to Dixie State, Texas Tech and New Mexico State.
- Tarleton defeated TCU, 3-1, in the previous meeting this season. Julia Adams finished with 18 kills, the most she has had in a match this spring.
- The Texans have one more series left in their first Division 1 season. They will host UTRGV at home after playing TCU on Saturday.
- This is the second match between the two schools all-time. Tarleton won the only previous match, earlier this spring.
