
TCU Falls to No. 2 Florida

GAINESVILLE, Fla. –No. 6 TCU men's tennis (9-4) suffered a 7-0 loss to No. 2 Florida on Wednesday afternoon at Linder Stadium in Gainesville, Fla. The Horned Frogs had match points to clinch the doubles point but couldn't overcome the Gators.
The Frogs went with a new lineup in doubles play only to fall in a very competitive tiebreaker on court two and drop the match, 6-4, on three to lose the doubles point. Alastair Gray and Jake Fearnley recorded the win in their first match together since March 1, 2020 in the No. 1 position. It was their fifth win together overall. Gray leads the team with 10 doubles wins this season while Fearnley improved to 4-2 playing in his first No. 1 doubles match since recovering from an injury.
Florida claimed all six matches in singles play. Sander Jong recorded the lone set win for TCU, at No. 4. He is now 7-4 in dual singles matches, three of his four losses have come in three sets and the lone two-setter was the result of two lost tiebreakers.
