Four Horned Frogs place in the top 20
RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. -- The No. 22 TCU women's golf team surged into a tie for second place after Tuesday's final round at the Lamkin Invitational in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.
Playing in its opening spring tournament, TCU began the day in fifth place after Monday's opening two rounds. The Horned Frogs' final-round 306 was the second-best score on the day.
Four Horned Frogs, led by Sabrina Iqbal tying for eighth, recorded top-20 finishes.
Iqbal posted her 12th top-10 finish in 25 career tournaments. The junior from San Jose, Calif., carded an eagle on the par 5, 474-yard 18th hole. She added a birdie in finishing with a final round 75 and 8-over 224 for the tournament.
Freshman Lois Lau tied for 10th for her second consecutive top-10 finish. She has three top-12 results in five tournaments this season. The native of Noisy-sur-Ecole, France, recorded par on 13 holes.
Fellow freshman Sabrina Nguyen, playing just outside her hometown of Escondido, Calif., tied for 14th for her career-best finish. Like Lau, Nguyen recorded par on 13 holes.
Valeria Pacheco had a team-best three birdies Tuesday en route to a 75. Her tie for 18th marked her fourth career top-20 finish.
