TCU volleyball returns to Schollmaier Arena for spring season home opener
FORT WORTH – TCU volleyball prepares to host Texas State in a Saturday afternoon contest inside Schollmaier Arena. First serve is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27.

Frog Focus
- TCU is playing in its fifth home match inside Schollmaier Arena, it's new, permanent home.
- The Horned Frogs played exciting matches on the home court in the fall. All four matches went to at least four sets, including a record-breaking five-set victory over Texas Tech (Oct. 8).
- Sophomore Julia Adams delivered 18 kills in the Horned Frogs last match, pushing her season average to 3.81 kills/set, the fourth most in the Big 12 Conference.
- Adams is currently on track for the 8th most kills/set in a single season in program history.
- MyKayla Myers set a new career-high with a .526 hitting percentage on 13 kills in her last match.
- She has now earned double-digit kills in three of her last four matches, dating back to the fall.
- Myers has posted a hitting percentage over .300 in seven of her last eight matches.
- She leads the team with a .345 hitting percentage this season, the fourth-best mark in the conference this year and on pace for the sixth-best average in program history.
- Sophomore setter McKenzie Nichols delivered 44 assists to begin her spring campaign, the 15th 40+ assist match of her career.
- She is now averaging 10.33 assists/set this season, the second-best mark in the conference.
- Nichols is on pace to become the eighth setter in program history to average double digit assists per set.
- Sophomore Afedo Manyang emerged as one of the top offensive options for TCU in the fall. The Fort Worth product has posted 100 kills in 37 sets (2.7 kills/set).
- She is just four kills away from tying her total output from the 2019 season (104 kills). Manyang needed 20 matches to reach 104 kills last season, she has already reached 100 in just nine appearances in her sophomore campaign.
Dig it Again Dan
- Senior Dani Dennison has been one of the most dependable players on the roster throughout her career.
- She has played in all 104 of TCU's matches over her college career, starting a majority at libero.
- Dennison has reached 1,237 digs, the fourth most in program history and just 10 shy of tying Meghan Horio for third-most all-time.
- With 11 matches on the Frogs' spring schedule, Dennison is on pace for 384 digs this season and 1,429 for her career, just four shy of the all-time program record.
- She is third in the conference with 4.27 digs/set.
- She leads the team with 192 digs through 11 matches. Dennison is on track to become the first player in program history to lead TCU in digs three times over the course of her career.
- She recorded 20+ digs three times in the fall, matching her total from the last two seasons combined.

Scouting the Opponent: Texas State
- Texas State enters the weekend with a 25-3 record. The Bobcats are receiving votes in the national Top-25 poll.
- The Bobcats went 15-1 in Sun Belt play, en route to their third consecutive Sun Belt Conference title.
- This will be their third spring match, after defeating UTSA in four sets and suffering a sweep to North Texas earlier this week.
- Texas State boasts a potent offensive attack. The Bobcats lead the Sun Belt in assists/set (13.33) and kills/set (14.23). Their 1,408 total kills this season is the most in the nation, and the 22nd-best kills/set average in the nation.
- The offense is based in variety as five different Bobcats are averaging over two kills/set this season.
- Junior OH Janell Fitzgerald leads the team with 365 kills (3.71 kills/set) on .344 hitting.
- This will be the 11th all-time meeting between the two schools. Texas State leads the all-time series, 7-3. TCU is 1-1 against Texas State in the Jill Kramer era.
