Swimming & diving starts mid-season competition
FORT WORTH – The TCU swimming & diving teams are ready for their big mid-season competition, as the swimming teams will compete at the Art Adamson Invitational in College Station, Texas and the diving teams will head to Dallas for the SMU Invite.
The Art Adamson Invitational will run from Nov. 17-19 and will feature Texas A&M, USC, LSU and Nevada. The Frogs have competed against USC and A&M already this season. At the USC Invitational on Oct. 15-16, TCU placed third overall and four athletes (Piotr Sadlowski, Geremia Freri, Janis Silins and Rylee Moore) notched seven B cuts.
So far this season, five divers have notched 16 Zone cuts. Leading the way for the Frogs on the boards is David Ekdahl, Alec Hubbard, Connie Deighton, Faith Harms-Zacharias and Anna Kwong. The SMU Invite will run Nov. 18-20.
Last Time Out
The Frogs competed against Texas A&M on Nov. 5, with the men's team losing 180-114 and the women falling 181-108.
The meet was highlighted by Jadon Wuilliez and Silins placing first and second in the 100 breaststroke. Wuilliez swam a time of 55.24 to finish first and Silins' time of 55.53 was good for second.
Three divers notched Zone cuts against the Aggies as well. Ekdahl recorded a 338.63 to place second on 3-meter and his seventh Zone cut of the season. Deighton got a Zone cut on 1-meter with a score of 286.80 and Kwong earned her first Zone cut of the season with a score of 286.80 on 1-meter.
