Rifle Concludes Fall Schedule Saturday at Home

TCU sits third in the NCAA aggregate average
FORT WORTH – The No. 4 TCU women's rifle team will look to close out the fall campaign on a high note Saturday when they host UTEP and Nebraska at the TCU Rifle Range. The Horned Frogs currently rank third nationally in aggregate average (4,720.4).
The Frogs' also rank third nationally in both disciplines with a season air rifle average of 2,378.8 and smallbore average of 2,341.6.
TCU fired a smallbore score of 2,342 and an air rifle score of 2,381 to combine for an aggregate score of 4,723 last weekend against West Virginia, its third-best team score of the season. The Horned Frogs had three of the top six individual shooters in the match.
Stephanie Grundsoee leads the team with her smallbore average of 589.4, which is fourth nationally. Stephanie Allan continues to elevate every week as she fired a career high in smallbore (586) over the weekend, finishing third in the discipline in the match. Kristen Hemphill and Abigail Gordon both fired a 584 in smallbore against West Virginia. Hemphill ranks 11th nationally with her smallbore average of 586. Nina Schuett contributed to the team's smallbore score with a 577.
Grundsoee fired a near perfect 598 in air rifle, placing her second in the discipline. She ranks fourth nationally with her air rifle average of 596.4. Gordon shot a 595, placing her sixth in the discipline last weekend. Allan and Anne White both fired a 594 last weekend and rank 13th and 15th nationally in air rifle averages, respectively. Hemphill also ranks in the top 20 nationally in air rifle average.
Nebraska is 12th in the nation and is undefeated on the season. The Huskers sit at eighth nationally in aggregate average (4,683) and fifth in smallbore average of 2,333.2. The team is led by sophomores Madelyn Erickson and Cecelia Ossi, who both are in the top 25 in aggregate averages.
UTEP has lost both of their matches this season, including one to Nebraska. The team is led by Isabel Brooks, who finished in the top 10 in the team's match against Air Force.
The match is set to begin at 8 a.m. CT at the TCU Rifle Range.
