
TCU Splits Meets in South Dakota

The Frogs bring home Seven MOPs
BROOKINGS, S.D. – The sixth-ranked TCU Horned Frogs were narrowly edged by South Dakota State in a 7-7 tiebreaker, 1205-1169.5. The Frogs then took down Minnesota Crookston, 15-1 moving to 3-3-1 on the season.
Raegan Rast, Ashleigh Scully, Madyson Buchanan, Isabella Baxter, Wynne Weatherly, Jessica McAllister and Giorgia Medows all brought home an MOP.
THE RUNDOWN vs. South Dakota State
The showdown between TCU (3-3-1, 0-2 Big 12) and South Dakota State (0-2-1, 0-1 ECAC) proved to be a tale of two halves. The two programs tied two of the events, Fences, 2-2, and Reining, 2-2, and split the last two events of the day. In the second half, South Dakota State took Flat, 2-1 and TCU took Horsemanship, 2-1. After going to the scorecards for a tiebreaker, the Jackrabbits emerged victorious, 7-7 (1,205-1,169.5).
The day started with Fences where the Frogs tied the Jackrabbits, 2-2, with Raegan Rast earning her first MOP of the season. Her score of 88 led the day for TCU. Ashleigh Scully also rode out for the Frogs winning her point 78-70 on Joey.
In Horsemanship, TCU took home the event, 2-1. Giorgia Medows earned the first point for the Frogs 75.5-73.5 on Mike and Jessica McAllister rode her way to a win carding a 75 on George. Mattie Dukes tied her South Dakota State opponent with a score of 74.5 making her 5-0-2 in Horsemanship on the season.
The Frogs started off the second half with a 2-2 tie in Reining. Madyson Buchanan brought home her first MOP of the season with a 76.5-75.5 win over her SDSU opponent. Giorgia Medows had the second point for the Frogs in the event carding a 75.5 on Mike.
TCU finished the meet off with a 2-1 loss to SDSU in Flat. Ashleigh Scully brought home the only point for the Frogs in the event as well as her first MOP of the season with a 76.5-71 win on Fendi.
THE RUNDOWN vs. Minnesota Crookston
TCU rallied on the second half of the day where they swept Minnesota Crookston, 4-0, in Fences. Isabella Baxter brought home her second MOP of the season in Fences riding to an 86-73 victory. Ashleigh Scully had the first point for the Frogs carding a 75 on Elliot. Emy Lucibello made her collegiate debut scoring a career-high 84 on Snowy and Raegan Rast brought it home with a 75-65 victory on Joey.
The Horsemanship unit swept the Golden Eagles as Jessica McAllister raked in her third Horsemanship MOP of the season after a 77-70.5 win on Hooch. Giorgia Medows gave the Frogs a point carding a 77.5 on Marley. Mattie Dukes and Shea Graham wrapped up the event both earning a 75.
In Reining, the Golden Eagles saw their only point hit the board while TCU won the event, 3-1. Giorgia Medows rode her way to her first collegiate MOP with a 76.5-72 win on Lucy. Madyson Buchanan and Mattie Dukes both added a pair of points for the Frogs with a 75.5 and 74.5 respectively.
Flat action rounded out the week for the Frogs where TCU swept, 4-0. Wynne Weatherly rode her way to an 81.5-63 victory as well as her first MOP of the season. Ashleigh Scully, Jacey Albaugh and Laurel Smith all added points for the Frogs with an 80, 78 and 76.
NEXT TIME OUT
The Frogs will be back home next weekend, Friday, Nov. 5, for a Big 12 matchup against No. 8 Baylor at Diamond Creek Ranch at 10 a.m. where they will wrap up the Fall season.
