TCU begins at 8 a.m. on Monday in Hockley, Texas
FORT WORTH – TCU will continue its season with the Big 12 Match Play Tournament starting Monday at The Clubs at Houston Oaks in Hockley, Texas.
Seeded sixth, TCU will face No 3-seed Texas starting at 8 a.m. on Monday. The Horned Frogs will then play No. 2 Oklahoma State Tuesday at 8 a.m., No. 7 Baylor Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. and No. 10 Iowa State Wednesday at 8 a.m. At the conclusion of pool play, each team will be ranked 1-5 within their pool based on the amount of points accrued.
The championship match will feature the team with the highest point total from Pool A with the team and the highest point total from Pool B. The third-place match will be between the teams with the second highest point totals from their respective pools. Each team will participate during the championship afternoon.
Each team will play with six in each match. TCU's lineup each day will consists of the following players; junior Jacob Olesen, junior Gustav Frimodt, junior Aymeric Laussot, senior Justin Gums, junior Chris Berzina, junior Caden Christopherson and senior Thomas Allkins.

The Clubs at Houston Oaks opened in 2017. The name comes from an abundance of large oak trees that the course winds among, many of which are over 200 years old.
LAST TIME OUT
Justin Gums finished tied for ninth at the Colonial Collegiate Invitational. Gums' score of even-par 210 was better than the No. 2, 4, 6 and 7 amateur golfers in the world. As a team, the Horned Frogs finished sixth, better than No. 6 Texas, No. 7 Clemson, No. 18 Vanderbilt and No. 19 Georgia.

- The match play tournament began during the 2018-19 season to give Big 12 teams experience with the format that decides the NCAA National Champion.
- Last season, TCU finished sixth at the match play tournament. Its best ever finish was three seasons ago when it was fifth. Overall, TCU's record is 5-9-1.

- Off of two top 10 finishes, Justin Gums currently ranks 20th in the Bushnell/Golfweek rankings.
- Having already played in three very competitive tournaments, the Carmel Cup, the Maridoe Collegiate Invitational and the Colonial Collegiate Invitational, TCU's strength of schedule is currently ranked as the eighth strongest in the nation by Bushnell/Golfweek.
- TCU lost three from last year's team and welcome newcomers Ethan Dial, Brent Hamm (Troy) and Jan Schneider (Washington).
- Among the 10 returners are four that played in TCU's postseason run last spring. Jacob Skov Olesen led TCU a team-high four times and was on the PING All-Central Region Team. Gustav Frimodt was Academic All-Big 12 and had 10 rounds of par or better. Aymeric Laussot had eight rounds of par or better. TCU's top finisher at the Big 12 Championship was Filippo Celli who led the Frogs with an average score of 71.77 last season. He won't be available in the fall, but will join the team in the spring.
- TCU has qualified for four of the last six and eight of the last 12 NCAA Championships. TCU has advanced to 18 of the past 31 NCAA Championships since 1991.
- TCU is one of nine programs to finish in the top 20 of the NCAA Championships in five of the last eight seasons. Those programs are Arizona State, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, TCU and Vanderbilt.
- TCU is one of 15 schools to play in the last two NCAA Championships.
- TCU and Clemson are the only two programs to make the last 31 NCAA Regionals with the same head coach. Last season was Clemson head coach Larry Penley's 38th and final season at the school.
- Bill Montigel is in his 42nd season at TCU and his 35th season as the head coach of TCU men's golf. Associate Head Coach Adrien Mork is in his fifth season at TCU.
