Play begins at 1 p.m.
FORT WORTH – TCU will open its men's golf spring season with a match against No. 19 SMU at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Vaquero Golf Club in Westlake, Texas.
Both teams will play eight with TCU using the lineup of sophomore Mateo Fernández de Oliveira, freshman Filippo Celli, freshman Jacob Olesen, sophomore Aymeric Laussot, sophomore Gustav Frimodt, junior Justin Gums, senior Trevor Brown and freshman Brandon Massey. The lineup order is based on the individuals' World Amateur Golf Ranking.
It will be the second match play event for TCU after going 2-3 at the Big 12 Match Play Tournament in the fall.

Live scoring will be provided by GolfStat.com. No spectators will be allowed at Vaquero Golf Club.
THE COURSE – Par 71 | 7,064 yards
Established in 2001, Vaquero is an exclusive private course located northeast of Fort Worth.
LAST TIME OUT
The Horned Frogs finished in ninth place at the Maridoe Collegiate Invitational on Oct. 20, 2020. Senior Spencer Ball led the way at 10-over 226 and finished tied for 32nd place.
NOTES
- TCU was saddened in November with the sudden passing of longtime volunteer assistant Dana Bellenger. In December, TCU announced the creation of the Dana Bellenger Endowed Scholarship for Men's Golf. Bellenger's initials "DB" will be visible on TCU's hat throughout the season.
- In November, Mateo Fernández de Oliveira won the Azalea Amateur title at Country Club of Charleston in South Carolina.
- TCU received 28 points in the first Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll. Five Big 12 teams are ranked in the top 14 (2. Oklahoma, 4. Texas, 9. Texas Tech, 13. Baylor, 14. Oklahoma State).
- Jacob Skov Olesen won TCU's second-annual Winter Cup on Wednesday. The four-round intrasquad event was won with a score of 1-under 281, four strokes better than Justin Gums' 3-over 285.
- Saturday will be the TCU debut of freshmen Filippo Celli and Brandon Massey.
- Bill Montigel is in his 41st season at TCU and his 34th season as the head coach of TCU men's golf. Associate Head Coach Adrien Mork is in his fourth season at TCU.
