Frogs improve to 2-0 on the road in conference play for the first time in 23 years
MANHATTAN, Kan. – RJ Nembhard scored a game-high 21 points and the TCU men's basketball team never trailed in a 67-60 win at Kansas State on Saturday inside Bramlage Coliseum.
Kevin Easley Jr. scored 12 points and Mike Miles scored 11 points to join Nembhard in double-figures for TCU (8-2, 2-1 Big 12). Kevin Samuel hauled in a game-high 10 rebounds and recorded two blocks and steals apiece. Dajuan Gordon led Kansas State (5-6, 1-2 Big 12) with 18 points.
The Frogs made nine of their first 12 shots and jumped out to a 22-9 lead over the first 10 minutes of action. TCU stretched its lead to as many as 18 at 29-11 with 7:24 remaining in the first half, but Kansas State made five of its final six shots of the first half to trim the Frogs' lead to 36-26 at the half. Nembhard led TCU at the break with 10 points and a pair of steals.
TCU struggled offensively to begin the second half, and KSU trimmed its deficit to as few as two with 13:08 remaining. The Frogs responded with a 9-1 run over the next five minutes to stretch their lead back to double-digits. Kansas State's accurate 3-point shooting kept the game close down the stretch, but TCU continued its strong defense and shot 13-of-13 from the free throw line over the final seven minutes of play to seal a 67-60 win.

TCU will host No. 3 Kansas (8-2, 2-1 Big 12) on Tuesday, Jan. 5 at 9 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN.
