Marie Norris improves to 5-0 in road loss

NORMAN, Okla. – TCU women's tennis got its fifth win of the season from senior, Marie Norris, but ultimately fell to Oklahoma, 6-1, Friday night in Norman, Oklahoma. Norris is now 5-0 in dual singles play this year as the Horned Frogs dropped its Big 12 season opener, on the road.

DOUBLES RECAP
TCU split the first two matches in doubles play but couldn't come back to win the third, dropping the doubles point to the Sooners.

Mercedes Aristegui and Chloe Hule continue to impress at No. 3 doubles. The pair collected their third win of the year in impressive fashion, 6-2. They are now a perfect, 3-0, as a team this spring.

Unfortunately for the Horned Frogs, Oklahoma claimed victories at No. 1 and No. 2 to take the doubles point.

SINGLES RECAP
TCU showed plenty of fight in singles play but would fall short on five courts. Margaret Polk won her opening set at No. 4 but couldn't secure the win in her third-set tiebreak.

Marie Norris had a wonderful day at No. 2. The senior jumped in front, 4-1 in her first set and soldiered on for a 6-2 first set victory. In the second, she left no room for comeback hopes, breaking her opponent on her first return game and continuing the trend for the rest of the set, winning: 6-2, 6-0. The win keeps Norris undefeated in singles play this dual season (5-0) and improves her overall record in singles matches to a team-best 7-1 in 2020.
