FORT WORTH -- TCU men's tennis (3-2) hosts a marquee matchup in the tennis world as the Horned Frogs welcome USTA No. 1 North Carolina (6-0) to the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center Sunday afternoon. First serve is set for 1 p.m. The duel will be played indoors.
This will be TCU's first duel against a No. 1 ranked opponent since Feb. 14, 2016 (L, 1-4 vs. UVA), The Horned Frogs are looking for their first win over a No. 1 ranked opponent in the Roditi era. North Carolina is ranked No. 1 in the USTA poll and No. 5 in the ITA team poll. TCU comes in ranked No. 11 in the ITA team poll and No. 13 according to the USTA.

TCU is looking for a bit of revenge indoors against the Tar Heels after North Carolina knocked out the Horned Frogs in the quarterfinals of the ITA Indoor National Championships last season, 4-3. Bertus Kruger and Sander Jong got singles victories in the match.
This season, the Horned Frogs are hoping to reestablish their dominance in doubles play after dropping their first doubles point of the season last time out, at Virginia. TCU is 8-3 in doubles matches this season, led by the No. 34 ranked doubles team of Alastair Gray and Jacob Fearnley. Luc Fomba and Kruger are also a combined 3-0 this season as a pair, at No. 3.
In singles, two players boast perfect records this year. Fomba and Tomas Jirousek lead the way with 3-0 records, Fomba at No. 3 and Jirousek at No. 6.
TCU leads the all-time series with North Carolina, 8-7, including a 2-2 record under David Roditi. Eight of the 15 matchups have been decided by just one point.
