FROG FOCUS
The Horned Frogs are coming off a strong weekend, taking down SMU and No. 40 USF on back-to-back days. TCU had a masterful week in singles play, winning all nine completed matches – 3-0 at SMU and 6-0 vs. USF. The Horned Frogs have not lost a singles match since Feb. 14, against USC, 15 straight singles wins.
Leading the way in singles is sophomore Sander Jong. Playing in the back half of the lineup, Jong has rattled off five straight singles victories. He hasn't lost a match on the purple courts this season and will be leaned on again this weekend against top-tier opposition.
Another Horned Frog of note has been Bertus Kruger. Bertus returned from injury earlier this month against Virginia and managed to win all four of his combined matches last weekend. He is now 2-3 in singles play and has won a team-best eight doubles matches with his partner, Luc Fomba (8-1).
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Ole Miss jumped six spots in the latest Oracle ITA team rankings to No. 14. The Rebels are coming off a 3-0 weekend in which they took down Fresno State (4-2), No. 28 Princeton (4-3) and No. 48 Alabama (4-3). Doubles and depth have been the biggest attributes for Ole Miss this season as they enter play having won all but one doubles point this season and a 23-4 record in singles from the back half of the lineup.
This will be just the second visit to Fort Worth for Ole Miss, first since 1989. The all-time series is tied, 5-5. This is the first meeting since 2010, Ole Miss won, 4-1.
Stanford currently stands at 7-3. The Cardinal battle Texas, in Austin, on Friday at 5:30. Stanford's last matches we at the ITA Indoor National Championships, where it finished with a 1-2 record. The Cardinal share two common opponents with TCU, both teams defeated NC State (Stanford, 4-3 and TCU, 4-0) and fell to USC (Stanford, 6-1 and 4-0, TCU, 4-2). Stanford's three losses this season have come to Top-5 teams, No. 4 Texas at ITA Indoors and twice to No. 1 USC.
TCU leads the all-time series, 4-3, including wins in the last three meetings. This will be the first meeting in Fort Worth. The Horned Frogs are 3-0 against Stanford in the Roditi era.
