FROG FOCUS
TCU is hoping for a statement win after a weekend of disappointing results. The Horned Frogs fell on the road to Virginia, last Thursday, before suffering a home loss to USTA No. 1 North Carolina on Sunday.
The losses were much closer as the final scores would indicate as three of the five completed singles matches against UNC involved either a third set or a tiebreaker after the Tar Heels won the doubles point in a tiebreak on court two.
The Horned Frogs enter the weekend with confidence, knowing that they have put themselves in position to succeed in the past, and a ravenous desire to take those make the adjustments needed to turn those opportunities into points for the team.
This will be the second consecutive match against a No. 1 ranked opponent, the first such occurrence in program history. TCU is looking for its first win over a No. 1 ranked opponent in the Roditi era.
USC leads the all-time series, 5-4. However, TCU boasts a 3-0 record over the Trojans since Roditi took over as head coach in the 2010 season.
SCOUTING THE TROJANS
USC suffered its first loss of the season on Sunday, a 4-2 decision, on the road, at No. 2 Ohio State. The Trojans followed that with a 6-1 victory over Wisconsin on Tuesday. They are 2-1 against teams in the field this weekend, defeating Stanford as well as Wisconsin.
The Trojans are 5-1 in 2020 and field a lineup of seven ranked singles players and four ranked doubles pairings.
