FROG FOCUS
TCU will be playing in its first duel action of the spring duel season after a strong performance at the Michigan Invite in January.
The Horned Frogs won four singles matches including a pair of victories from Marie Norris. Norris, playing in her first action in over a year, battled her against quality opposition to a 2-1 record on the weekend, giving Frog Fans a glimpse into the form that won her All-Big 12 second team in 2018.
Other Horned Frogs to watch include sophomore Mercedes Aristegui. The Spaniard, ranked No. 81 in the preseason ITA singles poll, went 1-1 in her singles matches in Michigan. Her aggressive style of play will make her a must-watch all season as she works to lead the team at the top of the lineup.
Margaret Polk will be making her spring debut for TCU on Sunday. The freshman has proven herself to be a strong defensive player with the ability to frustrate her opponents grind out matches, a critical skill that will serve the team well down the stretch.
SCOUTING THE OWLS
Rice enters the weekend with a 1-2 record in duel action. The Owls are on a two-match losing streak after falling 4-2 to No. 8 NC State and Oklahoma in the ITA Kickoff Weekend, hosted by NC State. Their one victory on the season came from a 7-0 sweep of Lamar at home.
