Horned Frogs close their fall season with a strong finish
SAN MARCOS, Texas -- Lois Lau and Trinity King posted top-10 finishes as TCU closed play and its fall season Monday at the Kissing Tree Invitational in San Marcos, Texas.
The event was an individual tournament with no team standings. All eight Horned Frogs competed with players from 10 other schools.
Lau and King were sixth and seventh, respectively, in the 49-player field.
A freshman from Noisy-Sur-Ecole, France, Lau carded her second consecutive 67 to finish at 6-under-par 210. She recorded six birdies with par on 11 holes in final round play. Lau closed the fall campaign with two top-12 finishes in four tournaments.
King posted her second 3-under 69 in the tournament and now has a pair of top-10 finishes in her last four events. The sophomore from Arlington, Texas, started fast and finished strong with birdies on her opening hole and three of the last four. She totaled five birdies on the day.
Jennie Park tied for 15th with a 1-over 217. Her final round even-par 72 featured three birdies, including her opening hole. She posted a top-20 result in all four fall tournaments and now has eight such finishes in 13 career events.
Grace Do and Valeria Pacheco tied for 24th at 4-over 220. Pacheco had four birdies, while Do totaled three.
TCU will return to action when it opens its spring season on Feb. 8 at the Lamkin Invitational in San Diego, Calif.
