Mercedes Aristegui to make 2020 fall debut
FORT WORTH – TCU women's tennis will play in its third competition of the fall this weekend, the ITA Regional Championships, hosted by Arkansas, in Fayetteville, Ark. The tournament will take place this weekend, Oct. 23-26 at the Billingsley Tennis Center.
TCU is bringing four student-athletes to the tournament, all of which enter the weekend including OU Invitational Champion winning doubles pairing of Margaret Polk and Isabell Pascual Montalvo.
This will be the 2020 fall debut for Mercedes Aristegui after coming back to Fort Worth from her home country, Spain. Aristegui was busy over the summer, claiming a singles title, the Copa Ines De Pablo Llorens, in Spain last month. Aristegui will hold the No. 6 overall seed in the singles tournament this weekend.
Stevie Kennedy will look to build on a strong fall season this weekend. She was one of three Horned Frogs to win their matches in the top-flight of the singles draw in the TCU Invitational earlier this fall. She faces Central Arkansas' Jaeun Lee in her opening match.
Competition is set to begin on Friday morning, with the champions crowned on Monday.
